Please note: Many of our founding staff are graduating this year and thus we have established the "apprenticeship" position. We are looking for underclassmen to work closely with the current staff and then take over their positions next year. If you are interested in an apprenticeship please only apply if you plan to stay involved with the magazine. The Position: As the Co-Editor-in-Chief you will work with a partner to facilitate the production of the magazine. This position requires a lot of time, dedication, and passion for the publication. You will organize and run ISO meetings, work closely with the officers, and work with the publisher to ensure you meet all necessary deadlines. Additionally you will work with the Tisch Office of Student Affairs to secure funding each semester. This is an officer position which means you will be required to attend weekly meetings on Mondays at 8pm in Tisch. PHOTO EDITOR (APPRENTICESHIP) The Position: Two Photo Editors are in charge of editing down all photography submissions we receive from students and other photographers. They decide on a Gallery theme for each issue, choose Featured Artists, and contribute advice for the general layout of photography spreads. This is an officer position which means you will be required to attend weekly meetings on Mondays at 8pm in Tisch. As the Photo Editors' Apprentice this year you will observe and assist the current Photo Editors. You will also get to know your future co-editor and discuss strategies for working together in your position. We look forward to reviewing your submission! The Position: The Art Director oversees the look and feel of the magazine—managing the visual content and designing the layout of every page of every issue. The staff collectively assigns a direction or vision for each issue by the gathering, producing, and editing of content; the art director is responsible for executing that vision by putting that content on the printed page in an aesthetically pleasing, intellectually effective manner. Applicants will ideally have experience with Adobe InDesign. This is an officer position which means you will be required to attend weekly meetings on Mondays at 8pm in Tisch. DEPUTY EDITOR (APPRENTICESHIP) The Position: As a Deputy Editor you will work together to recruit staff writers and oversee the writing process. You will meet with writers to brainstorm ideas, assign articles, edit rough drafts, and generally ensure the writers are meeting deadlines. As an officer you will also be asked to help out with the general concerns of the magazine, largely towards the end of the semester (copy editing, design critiques, etc.) This is an officer position which means you will be required to attend weekly meetings on Mondays at 8pm in Tisch. BLOG WRITER The Position: As a blog writer for ISO Magazine you will be asked to craft at least one post for the ISO blog every week. These postings can include links to photographer's websites, new exhibitions, articles of interest, student imagery, etc. Be creative! You will work with the blog manager to produce this content. You will attend staff meetings when needed and work with our editors to finalize your piece.
